It all started with a single T-shirt—a fun design for a wannabe Christian heavy metal band.
What began as a small creative project quickly grew into something much bigger, probably bigger than we were prepared for. We started experimenting with bold artwork, different garments, print methods, and ideas. Somewhere along the way, we realized we were actually making shirts. We never expected any of this.
From the beginning, we knew the artwork had to stand for something more. We wanted to use powerful, graphic imagery to promote one thing: Truth.
We wanted our designs to reflect our faith—loud, raw, and unfiltered. Why sugarcoat the Word of God to please those with itching ears? We decided we would not.
But what would we call ourselves?
One day, while reading Romans 6, verse 13 jumped off the page:
“And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.”
That was it.
Alive from the dead.
Those words shook something in us. We began thinking about what resurrection looks like to the rest of the world. We are born spiritually dead in sin, but through Christ, we are born again into new life. We are no longer what we once were.
That truth is at the very core of our faith.
We are born into sin—dead from the beginning, the walking dead. But through the blood of Jesus Christ, we are made new creations. We are raised from spiritual death and reborn into eternal life.
We were once dead.
Now we are not dead.
We are Undead in Christ.
And just like that, Undead Clothing Co. was born.
Of course, the name is a play on words. That is the point. Read through Romans and look for these references to death, resurrection, and new life. Do not stop there. The imagery runs throughout the entire Bible.
We made a decision early on: if we were going to do this, we had to do it right.
That meant remaining faithful to the Word—no watering it down and no sanding off the edges. Many Christian apparel brands focus on encouraging phrases and inspirational messages, and there is nothing wrong with that. But we knew we were called to something different.
Our message is Undeath.
We show the gritty, graphic reality of the Gospel—the blood, the suffering, the sacrifice, the grave, and the resurrection—because the truth of the cross is not soft. It is violent, costly, terrifying, and beautiful.
Trying to make it comfortable only weakens its impact.
